To date, Cannondale has lacked a dedicated “gravel” bike, using SE versions of the Synapse or its CX bikes to fulfil the role alongside the polarising Slate adventure bike. For 2019 the American brand introduced the Topstone, a more dedicated gravel version of the Cannondale SuperX. As of the time of writing the Topstone comes in two distinct versions – alloy with a rigid frame, and the Carbon version with the innovative “Kingpin” suspension. The Kingpin suspension is a single pivot that links the rear triangle to the seat tube to provide all day comfort on rough roads.
The bikes come with a range of finishing kits starting with Shimano’s 105 R7000, space for 37c tyres and some models can accommodate a dropper.
